About

At The Willow and The Rock, we believe in the power of resilience and grounding, just like the willow that sways but does not break, and the rock that stands firm through life’s storms. Our practice is rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that healing is possible for everyone.

We provide a safe, supportive space for individuals and couples to explore life’s challenges, process difficult emotions, and build the tools needed for long-term wellness. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship concerns, we walk with you—gently and steadily—toward growth and healing.

Services

  • Individual therapy provides a supportive space to reflect on and make sense of your personal experiences. Therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy are tailored to help address a range of concerns, including life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, low self-esteem, and trauma.

  • Couples therapy offers a space to foster healing, strengthen connection, and create meaningful change within your relationship. It provides an opportunity to better understand one another and build deeper emotional intimacy. Couples therapy can help address a wide range of concerns, including premarital preparation, infidelity, communication challenges, future planning, and more.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic memories. During EMDR, individuals briefly focus on distressing experiences while engaging in bilateral stimulation—often through guided eye movements—which can reduce the emotional intensity and vividness of those memories.

Extensive research has shown EMDR to be an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD. It is also increasingly recognized as a beneficial approach for addressing anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other overwhelming life experiences.

  • A 24-hour notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation. Any late cancellations or no-shows incur a $100 fee.

  • We generally meet with clients weekly, especially during the first few months. This consistency helps build momentum and allows us to establish a strong therapeutic foundation. Over time, we can reassess and shift to biweekly sessions if appropriate. Meeting less frequently than every other week is not recommended, particularly in the early stages, as it may not provide the support needed for meaningful progress.

While every person’s journey is unique, it's helpful to plan for at least six months to a year of therapy. The exact number of sessions will depend on your individual goals and needs.

Each session lasts approximately one hour.
